According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Olivier Giroud is the subject of interest from Real Madrid over a possible move in the summer transfer window. The reigning La Liga champions are hoping to pounce on the 35-year-old striker’s potentially reduced role to prise him away from AC Milan. Olivier Giroud has been one of the most underrated strikers of the last half a decade, as he was a handy contributor to Chelsea’s success before making his mark for AC Milan in the 2021/22 season. The Frenchman also played a pivotal role in helping Les Bleus win the 2018 FIFA World Cup, even though he was not prolific.
The 35-year-old had a solid record of 14 goals and four assists in 38 appearances for AC Milan in the 2021/22 season, chipping in with crucial goals to help deliver the Serie A title. But the arrival of Divock Origi this summer might hamper Giroud’s status in Stefano Pioli’s squad. Such a situation has captured the attention of Real Madrid. According to SPORT, Clement Lenglet could be the first player to leave Barcelona this summer with the French defender attracting interest from several clubs across Europe. The 27-year-old has fallen out of favour at Camp Nou and is open to an exit, as long as his €10 million annual wage demands are met. SPORT claims that he has received a proposal close to the terms he is seeking. It is not clear as to which club has tabled the offer, but the report adds that Lenglet is on the radars of many clubs, with AC Milan and Inter Milan the latest teams to show an interest in the French international.
Lenglet has completed four seasons with Barcelona, having joined the club from La Liga rivals Sevilla in 2018. The centre-back enjoyed tremendous success in his first two campaigns in Catalonia but has seen his stock decline over the past couple of years due to sloppy displays and the emergence of Ronald Araujo and Eric Garcia. After joining from LOSC Lille for €24 million in 2019 as a teenage prodigy, he was described as a maverick winger missing end-product in past seasons, but Leao truly came to the fore this past season for AC Milan. He scored in the game, but sadly went on to miss the decisive spot-kick in the penalty shootout.
Despite the cruel end, it’s been a sensational stint for Gibbs-White at Bramall Lane. The youngster made 40 appearances in total, and scored 13 goals and made 10 assists. That kind of form will no doubt draw attention from other clubs, and The Athletic say that Milan are already looking at the 22-year-old. According to Calciomercato, AC Milan views Liverpool ace Divock Origi as a target for the coming summer transfer window. The Belgian international is set to be out of contract with the Reds by that time. The club does possess the option of extending his contract should the 26-year-old make a certain number of appearances this season, but it looks highly unlikely that said criteria will be met before the end of the campaign.
Origi was approached by three Serie A clubs including the Rossoneri, in January. The Serie A giants are set to retain their interest in him. One of those teams is Italian Serie A giants AC Milan who are reportedly set to attempt to sign Torino striker Andrea Belotti.
Even though it continues to look highly unlikely that a deal would be happening anytime soon, Italian Serie A giants AC Milan have remained adamant that they still want to sign Manchester United star Diogo Dalot. The Portugal international right-back has continued to impress so far this season under current boss Ralf Ragnick and as his stock has continued to rise since the German manager took over at the club as he’s preferred the Portuguese star over Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Bissaka has seen his role at United quite limited and has played in less games so far this season, making Dalot the strong favorite to finish the season as the starting option in the right-back spot at Old Trafford. Dalot’s spell on loan at the San Siro some months ago earned him huge praise from Milan manager and a lot of affection from the fans of the club as well as he became a very important player for them before returning to United. However, it was immediately after his return to becoming a Manchester United player that Milan started to show interest in signing him permanently.
