AC Milan Boss Refuses to Quit amidst Poor Form

Marco Giampaolo has been subjected to intense pressure at AC Milan after overseeing the club’s worst beginning to a new campaign in eight decades. However, the 52-year-old has refused to quit from his role claiming that he still is very confident about overcoming the poor start. AC Milan have suffered a defeat in four out of the six league matches already.Giampaolo was the replacement for Gennaro Gattuso, who was relieved of his role only in June. Milan fell to a 3-1 loss against Fiorentina during the weekend and this was the third successive defeat for the team.

This has increased speculation that Milan are preparing for a managerial change so much so that Arsene Wenger that has been linked with the job. Wenger has been out of the dugout for quite a while since leaving his post as the Arsenal boss, but it is believed that will be ready to take up the challenge. However, the ex-Sampdoria boss remains adamant that he will not quit and that he can overturn the fortunes of the team. It is highly unlikely that Milan will offer any more time especially if the team suffer a defeat against Genoa this weekend.

Milan have picked up a couple of victories this season but they have been very narrow successes over teams in the bottom half of the table.”We’re working to do better. We were already working at 8 this morning. You say I work a lot but work badly? We’ll find the solution. Resigning? Never! Leaving means giving up and we never give up.We’re not budgeting for a bad result against Genoa. We’re working to eat the panettone. Our objectives are always at the maximum, we always think about doing our best,” said Giampaolo. Milan have gone through several managers over the last few years.
