Ricardo Rodriguez’s agent dismisses AC Milan exit claim

The representative of Ricardo Rodriguez has firmly dismissed the ongoing speculation, which has linked the Switzerland international with a summer exit. The left back only arrived at the Rossoneri from Wolfsburg last summer but there have been suggestions that he could be offloaded to compensate for the Financial Fair Play regulations.

However, his agent Gianluca Di Domenico has now dismissed the claims by saying: “Will he stay at Milan? That’s like asking me if I would [want to] be thin for the next 10 years. Seriously, he has a contract at Milan, he has done well and is playing for a coach in Gennaro Gattuso who likes him a lot. At the moment, Ricardo knows what he has in Milan, although it is true that in football, you can’t 100% say that you will stay a Milan player because this sport is like that. What I can say about Ricardo though is that he’s really happy to play for such an important club as the Rossoneri.”

Carlo Ancelotti has high hopes for ex-club AC Milan

Former AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti has high hopes for the Rossoneri prior to the end of the season. The San Siro outfit found themselves in a heap during the first half of the campaign as they fell into the lower half of the table despite spending nearly £200m on fresh recruits in the summer.

However, under the stewardship of Gennaro Gattuso, they have managed to make inroads towards the Champions League positions, and Ancelotti believes his ex-club could make the top-four, considering the average form of the likes of Inter Milan, AS Roma and Lazio. He said: “If they keep going on like this, I think they can. But they need to be ready in case Roma, Lazio and Inter found some difficulties in the following months. Considering their start, it’s already a great result to be thinking about reaching Champions League.”
