AC Milan president talks about importance of Champions League football

AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni has talked up the importance of Champions League qualification for the Rossoneri in order to ease the economic situation around the club. The San Siro outfit had been guilty of breaking the Financial Fair Play regulations during the previous campaign but they escaped with a hefty fine rather than a European ban on appeal.

Still, there are no assurances that the team will get a similar favour from the Court of Arbitration for Sport in the future and Scaroni remains hopeful that the club can maintain the stability with progress to the Champions League next term. However, the Rossoneri chief added that he won’t create drama, should the team fail to meet the requirements for the campaign.

AC Milan president pleased with club’s progress under Gennaro Gattuso

AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni has been pleased with the club’s development under the guidance of manager Gennaro Gattuso. The Rossoneri started the season in a relatively slow fashion with numerous stalemates but they have found their feet thereafter to propel into the Champions League positions.

At present, the Rossoneri are clinging onto the final Champions League qualification spot in fourth and speaking to reporters, Scaroni is impressed with the uptrend of fortunes around the club. He added that he has been pleased with the recruitment policy with both Lucas Paqueta and Krzysztof Piatek hitting the ground running since their winter arrivals.

AC Milan president refutes Antonio Conte speculation

AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni has stressed that the club are not looking into the position of manager Gennaro Gattuso. The former Champions League winner was appointed as the club’s head coach in November last year and he has since helped the team progress despite the change of ownership during the summer.

Nonetheless, there has been the speculation of Gattuso being potentially replaced at the turn of the year with Conte deemed a potential successor but Scaroni has dismisses those claims, he told Gazzetta dello Sport: “Maybe they haven’t told me, but I’ve never heard him mentioned by anyone. I don’t even have his mobile number.”
