AC Milan chief Paolo Maldini has confirmed that the club could make an approach to sign Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea on a permanent basis in the summer. The France international joined the Rossoneri on a season-long loan from the Blues last year, and he has since proved a quality addition at the heart of the club’s midfield.

AC Milan legend Serginho has said that Alessio Romagnoli has the potential within himself to develop into a top-class defender like Alessandro Nesta. The Italy international endured a tough beginning to the season with form and fitness concerns, but he has managed to revive his form during the backend of the campaign where the Rossoneri are right in the hunt for the top four.
Speaking to Tuttosport, Serginho praised the abilities of Romagnoli and suggested that he can reach the heights of Nesta and Paolo Maldini at the club, he told the publication: “[Alessio] Romagnoli is a great defender and he’s growing a lot. He’s a different player to Nesta, but they are both great defenders. Alessio is young, he can grow to become as good as Nesta and Maldini. Milan started the season poorly but the arrival of new players has allowed Gattuso to create the right balance. They are playing with greater continuity. Milan needs strong ownership, a good environment in the locker room and great players. Rino [Gattuso] has won a lot with Milan, he knows the importance of the shirt so he can change the team’s mentality.”
