AC Milan Unfortunate to Lose against Juventus, Claims Montella

AC Milan’s five-game unbeaten run in the league came to an end after a 2-1 loss against table leaders Juventus.

Just when it seemed that the club would be able to go on a run of form that would see them finish in the top three of the Italian Serie A, Milan have suffered this major setback. It took the club plenty of hard work in order to recover from a run of four successive losses in the league. The loss against Juventus, though, was highly controversial with Milan conceding a late penalty. After the game, manager Vincenzo Montella refused to criticise the referee for his decision, as the result of the game was already done and dusted.

Mehdi Benatia gave Juventus the lead after just 30 minutes. However, the table leaders were unable to hold on to this lead for much longer with Milan equalising through Bacca in the 43rd minute.

Silvio Berlusconi blames himself for the poor state of the Rossoneri

As per Berlusconi, because of more than seventy court cases which are running against him, he has had to spend almost half his time with his legal team for some time and thus he has failed to focus on Milan.

Berlusconi reckons if he hadn’t had the cases to deal with and he had given his full time to Milan only, the club would perhaps not have lost its glory.

In Berlusconi’s words, “Every alternate day, I am going for a meeting with people who are fighting my cases. The cases are just so many and my legal team always has something or the other to discuss with me. A lot of time goes to it and it’s been impossible for me to oversee all the Milan affairs myself. So, if you see Milan is presently not where it was in the past, you can put it down to me.”

“None of world’s Football teams has more trophies than Milan and it fills me with pride, but, I really wish I could have been a little more active as a chairman.” Continue reading Silvio Berlusconi blames himself for the poor state of the Rossoneri

No big players at AC Milan

AC Milan fans will be left disappointed after a lack of big names arrival at the Italian club.

Indeed they will have been hoping that the new AC Milan coach would have invested in some big players so as to improve the team but unfortunately, it has turned out be quite disappointing for them. In fairness, the Italian club is currently experiencing financial issues, and it was clearly impossible for them to sign quality players.

They will be hoping that the new Chinese investors will be investing money at the end of the year so that they can buy new players in the January transfer window. Discussions are still going on, and it is believed that any injection of cash will be done by the end of the year when talks would have been finalized.

At the moment the AC Milan coach will be looking to patch up the team here and there to help them compete in the first part of the season. The coach Vincenzo Montella has brought in 4 players during the transfer window namely Gustavo Gomez, Jose Sosa, Mario Pasalic and Matias Fernandez and he will be hoping that they could improve the club.

Vincenzo Montella is of the opinion that his team played extremely well in the friendly against Chelsea

AC Milan manager Vincenzo Montella is of the opinion that his team played extremely well in the friendly against Chelsea and were highly unlucky to lose the game. Milan lost the game 3-1 despite creating a number of chances in the match.

This was seen as a strong performance from the team that were expected to lose quite badly. Even though Chelsea were coming on the back of a very disappointing campaign, the mood is once again positive at the West London outfit following the arrival of Antonio Conte. The Italian knows everything about Milan after having spent his entire managerial career in Italy.

He has also come up against Montella as a manager in recent years. Montella was at Fiorentina before recently taking over at Milan. The former Fiorentina boss has a tough job on his hands to revive the fallen Italian giants. Without much help from owner Silvio Berlusconi, the club is finding it hard to compete at the very top on a regular basis. In fact, they have not been at the top for quite a while and Montella is aware that it will take a lot of investment in order to get the club back to where they belong. He is hoping that Milan are aware of the situation and give him funds to invest in the summer.

However, Milan manager Cristian Brocchi is hoping that owner Silvio Berlusconi does not sell the club, but admits that he cannot do anything about it.

The health of the former Italian Prime Minister has been extremely poor in recent times. He has just been admitted in hospital with a severe heart problem. It is rumoured that Milan, which remains his prized asset, could be sold before the lifetime of Berlusconi. Even though his daughter is part of the club, they have been criticised in his recent years for failing to put in adequate money to ensure that the club remained as one of the top guns in world football. Cristian Brocchi was chosen as the replacement for Sinisa Mihajlovic

Cristian Brocchi was chosen as the replacement for Sinisa Mihajlovic after AC Milan decided to sack the manager.

Brocchi was only in charge of the youth team when he heard about the interest directly from president Silvio Berlusconi. Milan have been through a number of managers in recent years. It was surprising that Milan decided to part company with Mihajlovic especially given that the club was making improvements in the league table. After finishing near the top 10 of the table in the last few years, Milan are on course to even qualify for the Europa League.

Berlusconi decided to act after seeing the club suffer a 2-1 loss against table leaders Juventus. It was a good performance from Milan, but Mihajlovic was always going to go out. Brocchi has made an instant impact by getting a 1-0 win over Sampdoria. Brocchi says that he thought Berlusconi only wanted to talk about the youth team when he was summoned to a meeting with the president. Brocchi will be in charge of the club until the end of the campaign. He has been given the objective of qualifying for Europe. If he meets the target, there is a possibility of Brocchi being awarded the permanent role. Continue reading Cristian Brocchi was chosen as the replacement for Sinisa Mihajlovic
