AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso has hinted that Gonzalo Higuain could make way from the club this month amid the reported interest from Chelsea. The Argentina international has been linked with a potential reunion with ex-Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri at the Bridge and it appears that a deal could be finalised before the end of the month.

Speaking after the Rossoneri’s Coppa Italia triumph over Sampdoria, Gattuso stressed that he has a good relationship with the striker and the pair are quite honest while speaking to each other. However, the ex-Champions League winner added that he is unsure regarding the Argentine’s position and the forthcoming weeks should provide a clarity regarding the same.

Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain has dedicated his match-winning goal to AC Milan manager Gennaro Gattuso after the Rossoneri came from behind to register a 2-1 win over SPAL. The Milan giants had gone through an unwanted history after failing to score in four successive league games but they managed to put that aside by finding the scoresheet twice against the weekend’s opponents.

Speaking after the game, Higuain highlighted the importance of the goal and praised his manager, who has supported him during a run of nine matches where he could not find the net. He added that the Italian Super Cup remains the next main challenge for them and they are determined to win the trophy against Juventus following the winter break.
