MILAN MIDFIELDER SET FOR CRUNCH TALKS WITH CLUB

AC Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu is reportedly ready to sit down with the club and engage in crunch contract talks amid reports that he could be heading for the exit at the club this summer. The Turkish midfielder, whose contract at Milan is set to expire on the 30th of June has not signed a new contract extension and talks have continued to make the rounds that he could finally cut ties with the Milan-based club in the summer.

Calhanoglu, 27, has been in and out of the Milan team this season and has not been given enough game time by the manager this season and that has been the major reason for the rumors to be flying around right now.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, the midfielder’s desire is to remain at the San Siro and would like to stay at the club and fight for his place in the team, especially with a new manager (José Mourinho) taking up the managerial role at the club ahead of next season. The Turkey international midfielder is reportedly ready to work with Mourinho and is currently expecting the club to table their contact offer which he would sit and discuss.

It’s not certain that Milan are readily willing to offer the midfielder a contract extension but the situation could change before the end of the season. Several clubs have registered an interest in the attacking midfielder, including England Premier League sides Everton and Tottenham, with AC Milan’s rivals Juventus also showing an interest in the 27-year-old.

Should he eventually leave Milan at the end of the season, he could be on his way to Turin and join Juventus who could also be getting a new manager for next season following Andrea Pirlo’s inability to make an instant impact with the squad.
