MILAN JOIN RACE TO SIGN TORINO STRIKER THIS SUMMER

Even though the summer transfer window is not here yet, teams are already building up their plans ahead and are trying to ensure that they prepare a list of their transfer tatgets and potential signings in a bid to have a smooth summer transfer window. One of those teams is Italian Serie A giants AC Milan who are reportedly set to attempt to sign Torino striker Andrea Belotti.

Belotti’s future at Torino is still up in the air as the end of the 2021/22 campaign approaches. The 28-year-old sees his contract expire in June and there seems to be no developments regarding a potential contract extension from the club’s end.

A new report from Calciomercato mentions of the striker’s intention to wait until the summer to decide on his next destination, meanwhile focusing on his form on the pitch. He has only recently returned from injury – a biceps femoris muscle setback – that kept him out of nine matches from the start of December to February.

Since returning from injury, he has scored two goals in four matches, including a decisive goal against Juventus in the Turin derby. The Granata forward is an admired member of the Torino squad and the management would like to see him stay, including technical director Davide Vagnati and chairman Urbano Cairo.

Atalanta, Fiorentina, Napoli and Roma are strong contenders for Belotti’s signature, but it is his boyhood favorite Milan who are on the top of his wish list if he moves on from his Torino spell. Injuries have marred his current campaign, where he has lodged just 4 goals in 14 appearances. The bigger picture is however different, as he has 109 strikes in 241 caps for the Granata since joining in 2015/16 from Palermo.
