Vincenzo Montella Growing Tired of Transfer Rumours at AC Milan

AC Milan manager Vincenzo Montella has claimed that he is growing tired of the rumours linking the club with every top player in the world, just weeks after Chinese owners completed the takeover of the club from the hands of Silvio Berlusconi.

The Chinese owners have promised significant investment into the club and it is primarily going to come into the playing squad. This has resulted in the club being linked with every top player like Karim Benzema, Cesc Fabregas, and Pierre-EmerickAubameyang.

Even with the arrival of all these players, there is continuing doubts about the presence of Gianluigi Donnarumma. It has been speculated that Manchester United may come in with an offer for the 18-year-old goalkeeper, who is widely regarded as the next big thing in the world. He is seen as the successor for Gianluigi Buffon in the Italian national team, despite his age. Montella, though, is only concentrating on the end to the campaign. Vincenzo Montella Happy with Point against Inter Milan

AC Milan suffered a major setback in the race for the Italian Serie A top three finish after only managing a draw with rivals Inter Milan in the latest Milan derby.

A 2-2 draw with Inter means that Milan have managed just one win in the last three games. Their form over the last five games has also been mediocre with only two wins. Inter, who were the home team, took the lead through AntonioCandreva in the 36th minute. Mauro Icardi doubled the advantage just eight minutes later. Just when it seemed that Inter would be able to claim an important win in the race for the top three places, Milan produced an incredible comeback in the final six minutes.

AlessioRomagnoli managed to come up with a goal in the 83rd minute. This led to a lot of hope amongst the away team that they would be able to claim at least a point. After having played a couple of minutes of injury time, Milan came up with a highly unlikely goal with virtually the last kick of the game. AC Milan Unfortunate to Lose against Juventus, Claims Montella

AC Milan’s five-game unbeaten run in the league came to an end after a 2-1 loss against table leaders Juventus.

Just when it seemed that the club would be able to go on a run of form that would see them finish in the top three of the Italian Serie A, Milan have suffered this major setback. It took the club plenty of hard work in order to recover from a run of four successive losses in the league. The loss against Juventus, though, was highly controversial with Milan conceding a late penalty. After the game, manager Vincenzo Montella refused to criticise the referee for his decision, as the result of the game was already done and dusted.

Mehdi Benatia gave Juventus the lead after just 30 minutes. However, the table leaders were unable to hold on to this lead for much longer with Milan equalising through Bacca in the 43rd minute.

Alfredo Magni confident on Gianluigi Donnarumma

Alfredo Magni, under whose guidance Gianluigi Donnarumma has been training and the one who is responsible for turning him into a solid shot stopper already, is of the view that once the teenager reaches the height of his physical abilities in a few years’ time, he will be even safer and more flexible between the sticks.

Donnarumma, till now, has not even crossed the legal age to join the game as a professional player. He is a part of Rossoneri only as a youth player as yet, but, is representing their senior team and such has been his impression that many want him to be given preference ahead of Buffon as the Azzurri’s first choice.

He looks as safe as anyone else in the Italian top flight at the moment and going through him has been quite an uphill task for the opposition strikers. For somebody of his age to start getting compared to a legend like Buffon and to be tipped to replace him, he must have shown something special already, but, as per his coach, this is only the start. Vincenzo Montella Claims That AC Milan Remain on Course to Meet Objectives

AC Milan manager Vincenzo Montella believes that the club are on course to achieving the objectives for the campaign, despite failing to win a game in the last five.

More importantly, they have suffered a fourth consecutive defeats – with three of them coming in the Italian Serie A. As a result, Milan have dropped five points behind Inter Milan, who are in the fifth spot. Qualifying for Europe is understood to be one of the main priorities for the club. Milan have not been seen in the European competitions since the 2013-14 season. They have undergone several managerial reigns during this period, but the club underwent a change in ownership primarily in order to make them competitive once again.

Former owner Silvio Berlusconi did not have the funds to make Milan competitive in the transfer market. Even the new owners have arrived, manager Montella is yet to receive a significant influx of funds. Continue reading Vincenzo Montella Claims That AC Milan Remain on Course to Meet Objectives

WATFORD CLOSE TO SIGNING NIANG

Premier League side are almost set to lure French forward M’Baye Niang from Serie A giant AC Milan, according to reports in Italy.

Vincenzo Montella Happy despite Goalless Draw against Atalanta

AC Milan failed to win the last two games of 2016 after a 1-0 loss against Roma followed by a goalless draw against Atalanta.

Following the last game, manager Vincenzo Montella said that he was happy with the performance of the players even though it was a goalless draw. The result did not help Milan’s hopes of being closer to the top three than ever before. Milan could have closed the gap on the top two places since Juventus and Roma were taking on each other in the other game. As it is, the club remain fifth in the table – two points behind third placed Napoli.

Montella has been a revelation this campaign, as he has managed to transform Milan’s fortunes even when spending just € 26 million on new players. The club recently secured new owners, who have promised to ramp the spending substantially. Continue reading Vincenzo Montella Happy despite Goalless Draw against Atalanta

Cazorla could join Ac Milan in January

Arsenal playmaker Santi Cazorla could join Serie A giants AC Milan during the January transfer window as Arsenal are reportedly set to cut their losses on the player.

Injuries have denied Cazorla from reaching his potential at the Emirates, and he is currently out with n Achilles injury. He picked up the injury last month in the Champions League game against Ludogrets, and he missed another this week against French side Paris Saint Germain.

Despite his injury concerns, AC Milan have been on his case for long. The Sun reports that Milan and Juventus are keen on landing the player when the transfer window opens in the New Year. There is a void left with the departure of Paul Pogba, and the huge transfer gain would be enough to offset any price tag the Gunners would place on Cazorla.

Juventus coach Masimiliano Allegri is a fan of the player and would be willing to land him as an extra option in the squad if Arsenal would agree in January. He would have to battle recently hired Vincenzo Montella and the Chinese consortium money Milan would be bringing to the table.

Milan were reported to be interested in Spurs forward Harry Kane, but Express Sport says Milan thinks Cazorla is a statement signing and would be easier to poach. Harry Kane wants a much-improved deal financially, and that has paused negotiations about a new deal. Spurs would definitely want to get the best deal if the player were to leave. However, Cazorla’s deal with Arsenal is set to end next year. This means the player can seriously enter talks with other clubs very soon, particularly as Arsenal have not agreed a new deal with him yet. Since 2012 Cazorla has appeared 177 times for the Gunners.

AC MILAN WANT TWO EPL STARS NEXT YEAR

AC Milan are keen on landing Algeria international Riyad Mahrez next summer, reports in Italy say.

Calciomercato claim that the Rossoneri are desperate for proven attackers that would reinforce their current squad for the coming season. The report says the Italians have identified Mahrez as the player that fits the bill.

There have been rumours that EPL players are set to join AC Milan, particularly with reported trips to England of the new sporting director of the club, Massimiliano Mirabelli. Reports say Mirabelli has approached the Foxes to name their release price for Mahrez – who has had a relatively underwhelming season.

Since Mahrez only signed a new deal this summer, it would take a lot for Milan to sign the Leicester City star. AC Milan are working at repositioning the club to the heights the club used to be, and they would be willing to go the extra mile to achieve their aim especially with the new owners backing them.

Aside Mahrez, there are reports linking Milan to Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere. The 24-year old English player is on loan to fellow Premier League side Bournemouth. However, the out-of-favour star might not oppose a deal to Italy if the terms are favourable. AS Roma and Milan were linked to the player this summer but the deal didn’t happen as Arsenal preferred to keep him in England.

Wilshere has featured in eight games for the Cherries this term but is international profile might be taking a hit. He was on the bench in the World Cup qualifier against Scotland, as Gareth Southgate preferred other players. He might get a chance when England play Spain in a friendly on Tuesday, November 15. Arsenal have insisted that there was still a future for the player at the Emirates, but the recent stability in the squad might force Wilshere to look elsewhere.

AC Milan relying on youth

AC Milan has made a change in their football philosophy and started to rely more on young players to get them back to the top of the Serie A.

Indeed, AC Milan is a club that has been renowned for signing expensive players during recent years but it seems that the Italian club wants to try another approach.

The average age of the teams that have played for AC Milan this season is 24 years old, and this has been a radical change from recent years. Three of these players are product of the AC Milan Academy, and they are joined by some other talented youngsters coming from other clubs.

And when you know that AC Milan already have some young players such as Alessandro Plizzari, Rodrigo Ely and Manuel Locatelli who have already established themselves as important members of the team you can easily understand that AC Milan is on the way to becoming one of the best clubs in Italy again.

However, pundits believe that the young players should step up and make sure that they repay the trust that is being put in them. Although they are playing well at the moment, the players have a tendency to become complacent in games and give away cheap goals. Time and again, they had to rely on the talent of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to make important saves to keep them from going behind.

It seems that AC Milan is on the right path and that they may reach their objective of qualifying for Europe at the end of this season. It is still early in the season, and we will have to wait at least for the beginning of next year to find out whether the team is progressing and whether they will be able to clinch a place to get back into Europe.
