AC Milan are set to make former striker Filippo Inzaghi as the next manager of the club. This is likely because Clarence Seedorf is expected to be sacked from his role at the end of the season. Said offers appointed as the manager of Milan only a few months ago, but he has struggled to live up to their expectations. He failed to take Milan into the European qualification positions. Milan will be without both Champions League and Europa League next season. Seedorf has been at loggerheads with the club’s board over the last few weeks.
Former Milan manager Carlo Ancelotti, who recently won his third Champions League title as a manager, stated that he believes Inzaghi will be a good manager for Milan. Ancelotti knows Inzaghi and Seedorf extremely well after having managed both players during his time at the club. Both these former players do not have much managerial experience, but they know the club extremely well after having played for several years. If Seedorf is expected to leave the club in the next few weeks, Inzaghi will be a good appointment.
Ancelotti has also stated that he is interested in becoming the manager of Italy at some point in the future because it is the dream of every manager from the country.
“Pippo has an extraordinary enthusiasm, a great desire, and has prior experience in the youth area. He certainly has all the features to [do well at Milan]… If he becomes coach, I wish him good luck. Coaching your country’s national side is always a goal. But [for the time being] I still want to be on the [training] field every day, I very much enjoy the daily relationship with the team. When I am no longer having fun … I’ll call the Italian Football Federation [FIGC]. When Prandelli’s contract expires [in 2016],” said Ancelotti.
